The Strategic Planning Initiative was launched in November
of 2012 with the goal of encouraging all Links chapters around the country and
overseas to align their programs and activities to support the priorities of
the National organization.
One reason for the strategic alignment is to increase the
impact of the organization as a whole on the issues of the community we
serve. By working toward the same set of
priorities and developing a process to measure program performance, chapters,
regions and the National Administration are able to work more effectively.
The current National Strategic Priorities are:
·
Deliver and sustain transformational
programs
·
Enhanced member services and engagement
·
Fund development and fiscal responsibility
·
Organizational assessment and alignment
·
Leadership development
·
Promote Links brand
The Strategic Planning Initiative requires each chapter to
have a Strategic Planning Committee. One
of the committee’s responsibilities is to submit the chapter’s strategic plan
into the National database and update it regularly with results, additions and
modifications. With widespread
participation in the National database, the National Administration can access
it at any time to find out how the organization is doing as a whole on a
particular priority.
Our committee members are: Hillary Fleming (Chair), Dianne
Young, I. Javette Hines, Joan Lewis Shepherd, Claudia Edwards, Earlene Cox,
Jennifer Lewis, Marilyn Price and Barbara Edwards.
